Algebraic Surface Models

It is not only possible to make 2d - printouts of algebraic surfaces, but also 3d - printouts! The main ingredient (besides a 3d-printer) for producing these models is our new tool to compute the needed 3d-data directly from the affine equation.

On these pages, you will find some photos of such 3d - models together with historical and other information and links to other webpages concerning models of algebraic surfaces.

Many people where important in the process of writing the program and actually producing the models. Here is an alphabetic list of some of them: J. Beigel, J. Chertok, S. Endraß, Detlev Gregorczyk, Ulrich Meissner, D. van Straten. Please, also check out the thanks-page!

The one who told me what rapid prototyping can do was Jon Chertok. Since several years, he is trying to reproduce the whole Rodenberg Series using this technique with the help of many mathematicians, cf. this page for more and check out my links-page to see what other people do using this technique.

Please contact me, if you have any comments or suggestions,

or if you would like to hold such a model in your hand,
